About this project

This project has been inspired by the fire breathing big BHP Group B rally cars that were banned in the mid 1980's. With a love for these cars in mind I'm creating a mid engine RWD track day car using a MK6 Escort as the base car and a Subaru Impreza turbo engine/gearbox to power it.

With the Subaru engine being quite light and having a low centre of gravity, (due to the flat 4 configuration) the car should have a good power to weight ratio and hopefully handle well, with a good suspension setup.

Winter Update.

Ok, so alot has happened over the last 12 months and its about time i updated the website. All the suspension and subframe pick up points are finished and the whole underside and the engine bay have been pained with and industrial enamel gloss white for a more durable finish. The subframes, suspension arms, trailing arms and the rear diff are all freshly painted and fitted to the car so its now rolling and well on the way to a finish. The engine and gearbox are also fitted and the seat mounts are welded in,the steering column has been fabricated and fitted, the next jobs are to weld in the door bars to finish the roll cage and paint the inside of the car so i can then fit the wiring loom, dash board, pedal box etc etc.

Please note the Gallery is currently under construction and i will be adding plenty pictures as soon as it is finished.

You can check out this link to see more pictures until the Gallery is finished.

Rear suspension Turrets

The rear turrets are now finished and tied in to the main cage, i used the top parts of the turrets out of the subaru and fabricated the rest myself, i made a jig to keep them positioned correctly whilst i cut them out. Check out the gallery for plenty pics. The next job is to fabricate the rear subframe mounts.

Major Update.

After many grueling hours welding welding and a bit more welding i am pleased to say that the peugeot finally has a new floor, bulkhead and engine bay that once belonged to a subaru impreza, all the welds will be ground down and seamed sealed to make a nice job.  The next job is to complete the cage.
